Ophthalmic Plastic, Orbit, and Cosmetic Surgery
The Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Service focuses on functional disorders of the eyelids, orbit (eye socket), and lacrimal (tear drainage) system, as well as cosmetic enhancement of the area surrounding the eye.
Our expertise includes reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgery, management of tear drainage disorders, and treatment of orbital diseases, including tumors, inflammation, and thyroid eye disease.
Ophthalmic plastic surgery is a unique specialty that relies on a surgeon's technical ability and artistic skill. Our surgeons are qualified to perform aesthetic and reconstructive procedures in and around the delicate eye structure. The team of physician specialists at Mass. Eye and Ear are board certified and perform a wide range of procedures, utilizing the latest technologies.
Additionally, our team of oculoplastic surgeons are members of the multidisciplinary Center for Thyroid Eye Disease and Orbital Surgery at Mass. Eye and Ear, which provides minimally invasive, state-of-the-art care for patients with thyroid eye disease and tumors in the eye socket.
