Boston — (March 18, 2011) – Mass. Eye and Ear welcomes Dr. Ayesha N. Khalid, an otolaryngology-head and neck surgeon and a resident of Concord, Mass., to its new Mass. Eye and Ear, Concord, location. Dr. Khalid joins Mass. Eye and Ear otolaryngology-head and neck surgeon Dr. Stephen A. Smith. Dr. Khalid is a member of the Emerson Hospital medical staff and is treating patients full-time in Concord.
Dr. Khalid's focus includes adult and pediatric general otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) with a special interest in sinus and allergic disorders of the nose. Dr. Khalid is trained as a sinus specialist and has a particular interest in quality of life following endoscopic sinus surgery. Her clinical interests include chronic sinus and nasal disorders, sinonasal polyps, allergies, cerebrospinal fluid leaks and sinus tumors and skull base tumors. Her research interests include quality of life in chronic rhinosinusitis and otolaryngic allergies.
After completing medical school and then her residency at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Dr. Khalid completed a fellowship in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Oregon Health and Science University.
Dr. Khalid is an instructor of Otolaryngology at the Harvard Medical School. She is a Board Certified otolaryngology-head and neck surgeon.
