Computed Tomography (CT)

Phone number for Radiology Department

Computed Tomography or more commonly known as a CT or CAT scan is a type of X-Ray that develops a cross section of the body tissues and organs. CT imaging gives a detailed look at the internal structures and can help with rapid diagnosis of infections, tumors, inflammatory processes or abnormalities involving vessels. A CT is usually requested because both soft tissue and bone injuries, as well as vascular injuries, can be evaluated.

Our department here at Massachusetts Eye and Ear can perform 3D manipulation of the inner ear canal, vessels in the head and neck and various other anatomy located in the head and neck region. This is performed on a separate work station after your imaging study is complete. By having this tool, it can better help in our diagnosis, treatment and surgical planning.
