Sinus Center Research Initiatives

Here in the Sinus Center, we pride ourselves on the strong role that research plays in supporting and enhancing the clinical care provided to our patients. Being a part of Mass. Eye and Ear uniquely positions us to transform the way patients are treated through our research efforts that are focused on understanding the mechanisms of chronic sinus disease and investigating our sense of smell.

Some of their current research initiatives include studying:

  • The mechanisms of chronic rhinosinusitis
  • Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps
  • Epithelial immunity
  • The physiology and mechanism of olfactory deficits
  • New techniques in odor therapy to treat nerve damage
  • Novel drug delivery devices
  • Drug eluting stents and polymers
