Dr. Lin is a clinician scientist who specializes in epigenetic, gene-editing and stem cell tissue regeneration for retinal diseases, particularty age-related macular degeneration and inherited retinal degenerations. He has found several genes involving ubiquitin conjugation and deubiquitination; created de novo DNA methetransferase gene (Dnmt 3a and 3b) knock out and conditional induction mice; and studied the function of DNA methylation in tumor formation. He also has studied the role of mitochondrial DNA and miRNAin age-related macular degeneration. Currently, he is finishing his medical retina training at Mass. Eye and Ear.
