What happens to my application when I apply online?

Your application is automatically routed to the appropriate Human Resources Generalist who reviews applications. Your skills and experience will be compared with the requirements for the job.

I don't have a computer. How can I apply for positions online?

If you do not have access to a computer, there are resources available in the Human Resources Department located at 325 Cambridge Street, 7th Floor, Boston, MA 02114. You may come in on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between the hours of noon and 4 p.m.. There is a phone in the lobby that you may use to gain access to the floor.

Who should I contact if I need assistance applying online or have general questions?

You may contact the Human Resources department by sending an e-mail to hrdept@meei.harvard.edu. Resumes cannot be accepted at this address.

When will I be contacted after I successfully apply online?

You will receive an automatic e-mail notification after you submit your application. Note that this may be the only correspondence you receive about your status. Because of the large number of applications we receive, we are only able to contact candidates who best match the requirements for the position. Further contact cannot be guaranteed.

I submitted my application but haven’t been contacted. What should I do?

You can revisit our website to see if the position you applied for is still available. There is no limit to the number of positions you can apply for, and you are encouraged to review additional opportunities.

Why is it important to provide a résumé/work history?

Attaching résumés to your application will allow Generalists to compare your skills and experiences to those that best fit the job. Also, Generalists will need your contact information if you are being considered for an open position.

Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes. Please apply to each posting for which you are qualified and have an interest. This will ensure that you are given proper consideration for every opportunity for which you have an interest.

How long is my application kept on file?

All applications remain on file for two years. Please remember to keep your contact information and work history up to date in your profile.

What positions do you list online?

All full-time, part-time, per diem and temporary opportunities are posted online.

What does Per Diem mean?

Literally translated it means "per day." Per diem employees are scheduled on an as-needed basis and are not eligible to receive benefits.
