Dr. Aronow is a member of the Retina and Ocular Oncology Services. She specializes in the full spectrum of pediatric and adult eye cancers, as well as in diseases of the retina.
Dr. Aronow earned her medical degree cum laude from Yale University School of Medicine. She then completed residency training in ophthalmology and subspecialty fellowship training in ocular oncology at the Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic. Following this, she completed a second fellowship in medical retina at the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health.
Her research focuses on understanding the underlying mechanisms that drive tumor metastasis in uveal melanoma, the most common primary intraocular malignancy in adults. Specifically, she is investigating plasma tumor DNA in patients with uveal melanoma in order to understand how these levels correspond with response to treatment. The ultimate goal is to assess the efficacy of newly developed targeted therapies.
