Application Process - Ophthalmology Residency Program

Satisfactory completion of both a standard medical school curriculum and an ACGME-accredited twelve-month internship is required prior to the beginning of residency. The internship must be a strong clinical one (e.g., medicine, pediatrics, surgery, or transitional). United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) certificates are required for graduates of foreign medical schools.

Massachusetts Eye and Ear participates in the Ophthalmology Residency Matching Program (OMP) and the San Francisco Match Central Application Service (CAS). The CAS application should be received by us by September 7, 2018. Interviews are offered to approximately 48 applicants and are conducted in the late fall. There are 8 first-year clinical positions available each year.
