14th Annual Harvard Medical School Intensive Cataract Surgical Training Course for Second-Year Ophthalmology Residents

May 19-20, 2018

This highly regarded weekend course will be held at Mass. Eye and Ear's main campus (243 Charles Street, Boston) and is open to U.S. and international second-year ophthalmology residents only. The course is free of charge, but registration is required.

Course Objectives

At the completion of this comprehensive course, it is expected that the residents will be able to:

  • Address preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management issues in cataract surgery
  • Learn and practice the technical skills of cataract surgery
  • Recognize and understand complications of cataract surgery
  • Understand phacoemulsification technology, instrumentation, and lenses
