Claes Dohlman Society Award
The Claes Dohlman Society is composed of fellows (current and past) who have trained under Professor Claes Dohlman, MD, PhD at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and the Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass. Eye and Ear; recipients of the Claes Dohlman Society Award; and distinguished individuals who have made contributions to the Society to help promote excellence in the training of cornea fellows.
Established in 2000, the Claes Dohlman Society Award recognizes outstanding fellows training in the specialty area of Cornea, Refractive Surgery and External Diseases. This award is granted to an individual or individuals through a comprehensive and highly competitive application process. The number of awards each year is based upon the amount of funding received. The award is presented annually at the Claes Dohlman Society dinner during the American Academy of Ophthalmology Meeting; recipients of the award will be asked to attend.
All applications will be reviewed by a designated selection committee comprised of physicians, educators and scientists. The selection committee will rank all applicants and make final recommendations to the Board of Directors. Recipient(s) will be announced in early summer and the formal presentation of the award will be made at the Academy meeting that fall.
