Corporate Sponsorship

Getting a corporate sponsor (or two!) can be a great way to help you reach (and exceed) your personal fundraising goal.  It is also a great way for the company to gain exposure and publicity.  Following are the sponsorship opportunities for Team Eye and Ear.

Sponsorship Opportunities

  • Platinum Sponsor ($10,000)
  • Gold Sponsor ($5,000)
  • Silver Sponsor ($2,500)
  • Bronze Sponsor ($1,000)

Sponsorship Benefits

  • All Sponsors will have their logo prominently displayed on all 50 Team Eye and Ear members’ singlets when they run in the Boston Marathon.  Hundreds of thousands of spectators are expected to attend.  Please note: For a company to have their logo displayed on the singlet, they cannot be a direct competitor to any official Boston Marathon sponsors - ex: Adidas, Gatorade, Poland Springs, Saturn, etc.  Listings of all Boston Marathon sponsors can be found at http://www.bostonmarathon.org/BostonMarathon/Sponsors.asp.  Please contact Kristina Sym with any questions.
  • All sponsors will be listing in Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary’s Annual Report (circulation 6,000+).

How to get a corporate sponsorship

Start with a personal contact within the organization.  A senior-level manager or someone who has influence within the organization is your best bet.

1. Research how the corporation makes gifts:

     Foundation? Community relations? External affairs?

2. Research the interest areas of the corporate gifts:

Do they often give to healthcare institutions? Meet with your contact

3. Tell them about the Team Eye and Ear program, along with why you have made a commitment to run with Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary.

4. Present your contact with the Coporate Sponsorship Opportunities Packet

5. If you cannot meet with your contact

Send him/her a personalized letter (see example/template here)and a copy of the Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities Packet

6. Follow up with your contact one to two weeks later.

7. Be persistent.
