A Coordinated Multidisciplinary Approach

The Pediatric Airway, Voice and Swallowing Center is staffed by physicians and health care professionals from multiples specialties (pediatric otolaryngology, pediatric pulmonology, pediatric gastroenterology, speech and voice, and pediatric psychiatry) from Mass. Eye and Ear and Massachusetts General Hospital for Children (MGHfC). Our hope is that parents and their children view Mass. Eye and Ear and MGHfC as one seamless unit connected by corridors where a group of specialists and health care professionals work together to provide unified, multidisciplinary care.

As part of this collaboration, patients in the Pediatric Airway, Voice and Swallowing Center may be treated in the MGHfC Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a 14-bed, multidisciplinary unit that provides high quality care for critically ill infants, children and adolescents.
