Pediatric Otolaryngology Research
Thanks to a wide range of funding sources including government and private donors, pediatric ENT research at Mass. Eye and Ear has resulted in significant breakthroughs and innovations that have advanced medical and surgical treatment.
Education in Pediatric Otolaryngology
Mass. Eye and Ear is considered a valuable pediatrics training resource.
One major commitment of the Division is to the education of residents in pediatric otolaryngology. Dr. Cunningham is the residency program director, but all four physicians have an active teaching role.
Continuing Medical Education is another focus of the Division. Harvard Medical School sponsored courses have been given for attending level physicians both in primary care as well as in otolaryngology.
A one or two year fellowship is offered in pediatric otolaryngology directed by Dr. Christopher Hartnick. Those fellows who choose a second year devote that year to advanced education or research.
The Division’s physicians lecture nationally and internationally on pediatric otolaryngology, and have played prominent leadership roles in the field’s major academic societies including the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.
Mass. Eye and Ear publishes four journals on quality measures of patient care.
