Tattoos can be professional, non-professional, single or multi-colored. Several lasers such as the Q-switched ruby, Q-switched Nd:YAG, Q-switched Alexandrite, and carbon dioxide have been shown to effectively remove most blue/black tattoos. Only certain lasers will remove the colors in some of the tattoos. An important issue here is that some lasers break the skin surface producing bleeding during treatment whereas other lasers do not.
