Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Consultation

The Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Consultation Service provides primary eye care and cataract surgery for patients at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and at One Joslin Place, in the Beetham Eye Institute of Joslin Diabetes Center.

There are more than 20,000 patient visits each year to the Comprehensive service, located in downtown Boston on the first floor of Mass. Eye and Ear and in our new Longwood area office at Joslin.  Our primary care ophthalmologists provide complete eye care and specialize in cataract surgery.

Their expertise includes:

  • Routine annual eye and vision exams
  • Prescriptions for eyeglasses and referrals for contact lens fittings
  • Management of a variety of common eye problems, including:
    • Cataracts
    • Glaucoma
    • Conjunctivitis
    • Dry eyes
    • Blepharitis
    • Diabetic eye examination
    • Macular degeneration

We also provide referrals for advanced care in the subspecialty services within Mass. Eye and Ear, which include the Cornea and Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Retina, Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Vision Rehabilitation, Uveitis and Contact Lens Services.

Surgical Staff
