Ocular Tumor Research
Tumors located within the eye can be a challenge to diagnose and to treat effectively without causing damage to the eye and loss of vision. Proton beam irradiation of intraocular tumors, first developed at the MEEI, can effectively treat many tumors without causing additional visual loss. Ongoing research efforts are directed toward novel methods of diagnosis and further development of therapeutic approaches.
