Cataract Surgery

Lens and Cataract Research

The ocular lens functions to focus light on the retina. Normally the lens is clear but with aging it can become opaque due to cataract formation. Cataracts can be successfully removed by surgery. Current research in this area investigates novel methods to remove cataracts and restore sight.
