Imaging

New imaging techniques are helping researchers map the effects of treatment by taking pictures of the different layers of the cornea.  Dr. Dana’s research team is currently enrolling patients for a study on confocal microscope imaging.  The confocal microscope allows researchers to take detailed images of the cornea to detect changes in the signs of dry eye disease, a common eye problem effecting over 10 million people in the US.  Information gained from these images will provide researchers and physicians information on the effects dry eye can have on corneal nerves.
