ARIS THANOS, M.D.
Dr. Thanos is currently a PGY-2 resident at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He worked from 2007 to 2011 as a postdoctoral fellow at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, having received his M.D. degree from the University of Athens in 2006.
His research interests include elucidating the role of retinal microglia in ocular neovascular diseases, conditional gene targeting in the retinal pigment epithelium and neuroprotection in retinal neurodegenerative diseases. In 2012, Dr. Thanos co-authored a report regarding how alterations in inflammation and immune system pathways can predispose the retina to neovascular complications.
