Dr. Liang is a research fellow at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. She received her M.D. degree from Guangxi Medical University and her Ph.D. in Endocrinology and Metabolism from Sun Yat-Sen Medical University at Guangzhou, China. Before she joined Dr. Connor’s lab she was a Professor and Chief physician in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at The First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University in Shenzhen, China.
Her past research experiences include applying glucose clamp techniques for evaluating insulin resistance and beta-cell function in diabetic patients, studying the impact of glucotoxicity on insulin resistance and secretion in type 1 diabetic patients and an working on an epidemiological survey of type 2 diabetes in Guangdong Province.
In Dr. Connor’s lab, she will actively participate in the research of vascular retinopathy in diabetes.
