Qi Zhang, M.D., Ph.D.
Instructor of Ophthalmology, Department of Ophthalmology
Dr. Zhang is a research scientist who is interested in human genetics/genomics and inherited human diseases. He is working on novel cilia genes identified in proteomic data of retinal photoreceptor cells. He uses zebrafish to explore the function of disease genes, mutagenesis to model inherited retinal diseases, and morpholino knockdown, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing to study gene function and mutant alleles.
