Research Summary

Dr. Kim has extensive experience in the management of retinal diseases associated with neovascularization or angiogenesis and is devoted to understanding the mechanisms of vitreoretinaldisease. A K12 recipient, Dr. Kim is part of a project evaluating neovascular membranes obtained from patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy and is analyzing the genomic stability of these membranes. In addition, he is interested in retinal toxicities and their mechanisms of cell death as well as computational modeling of oxygen distribution in the presence of drusen and AMD.
