Yoshihiro Yonekawa, M.D.

Research Summary

Dr. Yonekawa’s research interests include the development of surgical techniques, 3-D surgery, advanced diagnostic imaging (such as ultra-widefield angiography, swept-source OCT, and OCT angiography), telemedicine, gene therapy, and improving treatment outcomes of adult and pediatric retinal conditions. He is an accomplished clinician scientist and has contributed over 130 original papers, editorials, and textbook chapters to the field of adult and pediatric retina. His research achievements have been recognized with multiple awards. He is a referee for over a dozen journals, including Ophthalmology, JAMA Ophthalmology, and Retina, and is Deputy Editor for the Journal of VitreoRetinal Diseases, the official journal of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
