Research Summary

Dr. Rajaiya works to understand the intracellular trafficking of viruses into cells. She applies her expertise in molecular biology and her background in infectious disease pathogenesis to questions in adenoviral pathogenesis, and expands her expertise to cell signaling upon adenoviral infection. Her present work addresses very basic phenomena in viral entry and intracellular trafficking during infection. Dr. Rajaiya also is involved in complete genome analysis of adenoviruses. This project seeks to elucidate transcriptomes and proteomes of human adenoviruses most closely associated with corneal infections.
