Research Summary

Dr. Kheirkhah's research has focused on ocular surface disease. His work in this area has resulted in more than 55 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters as well as numerous presentations in national and international conferences. Now, he primarily investigates dry eye as well as imaging of the cornea and conjunctiva in various ocular surface diseases. In addition, his new ideas in collagen cross-linking have led to filing a patent application, which may expand the indications of the procedure to a large number of patients. His recent research focus involves the role of corneal nerves in health and disease.
