Dr. Bex uses behavioral and computational techniques to study the disease process in age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and amblyopia. His laboratory develops efficient methods that accurately and precisely measure the presence and progression or remediation of vision loss. In addition to improving diagnosis and prognosis estimation, these methods aim to reduce the duration and cost of clinical trials. His laboratory also develops novel therapies, assistive technology, and rehabilitation methodologies to relieve the burden of visual impairment.
