Study Design

RISE is a Phase III multi-center, masked, randomized clinical trial.
|

Study Objective
|
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Lucentis injections in subjects with swelling of the back of the eye, called macular edema, that is caused by diabetes. Lucentis may reduce this swelling, which may lead to stable or improved vision.

Who is Eligible
|
Patients with macular edema due to diabetes
|

Subject Enrollment
|
This study is currently in follow-up. No new patients can be enrolled.
|
|
Study Procedures
|
Participating patients receive monthly Lucentis injections or sham injections for a period of 2 years. All patients receive Lucentis injections during year 1 through year 5 of the study.
