Bedard Earns Norman Knight Nursing Clinical Practice Excellence Award
BOSTON (May 30, 2014) – Pauline Bedard, R.N., a resident of Salem and an operating room nurse at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, was recently presented with the Norman Knight Nursing Clinical Practice Excellence Award, which was established in 2002 to recognize and honor nurses whose clinical practice demonstrates excellence and a commitment to quality care.
“Respected by her peers and surgeons, Pauline brings years of clinical expertise that allow her to serve as a role model and educator to staff,” said Chief Nursing Officer Eileen Lowell, R.N., M.M. “Pauline always brings a smile to work, each and every day.”
The award was presented at Mass. Eye and Ear’s recent Nurses Appreciation Week Dinner, where President and CEO John Fernandez praised the organization’s nurses for their “tremendous courage, professionalism and grace” in the face of many unique challenges last year, including caring for many Boston Marathon bombing victims.
The appreciation and awards dinner was among the highlights of Mass. Eye and Ear’s annual Nurses Appreciation Week, which offers a variety of learning opportunities and recognizes that Mass. Eye and Ear’s nurses, like all employees, are an integral part of the hospital’s mission.
