Rachel Wasserstrom Named VP Otolaryngology

BOSTON (March 25, 2014) -- Rachel Wasserstrom, a resident of Weston, Mass., recently joined Massachusetts Eye and Ear as Vice President Otolaryngology.
Wasserstrom has an impressive breadth of experience running busy, clinical departments for academic medical centers, as well as a deep knowledge of hospital finance and operations.
Since 2006, Wasserstrom has served as Executive Administrator for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). There she was responsible for all of the business affairs of the department, which includes 71 employed physicians and researchers and 45 administrative employees in 11 clinical divisions, six research divisions and five administrative divisions. Wasserstrom also played a leading role in the department’s strategic planning, financial management and development of collaborative programs. Prior to BWH, Wasserstrom worked in New York City as the Director of Budget, Operations and Planning for Mount Sinai Hospital and held key administrative and finance positions at Lenox Hill Hospital and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Wasserstrom earned her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and her MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband are the parents of two young children.
