BOSTON, MASS. (Dec. 9, 2014) - David A. Shaye M.D., a board-certified surgeon, has joined Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Boston, to provide expert facial plastic and reconstructive surgery services to adults and children.
Dr. Shaye is based at the Facial and Cosmetic Surgery Center at Mass. Eye and Ear located at 243 Charles Street, Boston.

A U.S. Department of State Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Shaye earned his bachelor's degree in physics from Hamilton College and his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed residency training at the University of California at Davis in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck and fellowship training in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Shaye focuses his research on global surgery, or the delivery of surgical services to areas with limited resources. Specific research interests include cleft lip and palate, burden of disease assessment and mobile phone technology to improve surgical follow-up. Dr. Shaye regularly performs surgery for children with cleft lip and palate deformities in Zimbabwe, provided medical relief in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan, and participates in a teaching partnership with the Ministry of Health in Rwanda. He has volunteered extensively in Malawi, Bhutan, Dominica and Guatemala.
Dr. Shaye specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck. This includes aesthetic procedures such as facelift, blepharoplasty and browlift. Dr. Shaye is experienced in rebuilding all parts of the face from skin cancer (Moh's) surgery to birth deformities of the lips, nose and ears. He offers a wide range of options for facial reconstruction after car accidents and injuries of the bones of the face, which include the spectrum of free tissue transfer to scar management. Rhinoplasty and improvement of the appearance and function of the nose are important aspects of his practice.
