WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 6, 2013)— The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) has recently announced the induction of Dan Merfeld, Ph.D., Founder and Director of Jenks Vestibular Physiology Laboratory at Mass. Eye and Ear to its College of Fellows. Dr. Merfeld was nominated by peers and elected by the full membership into the official College of Fellows Class of 2013 for outstanding contributions that advanced the understanding of vestibular neurophysiology and that led to the development of a vestibular neuroprosthesis.
The College of Fellows is comprised of the top 2 percent of medical and biological engineers in the country. Engineering and medical school chairs, research directors, innovators, and successful entrepreneurs, comprise the College of Fellows to pursue AIMBE’s mission to provide leadership and advocacy in medical and biological engineering for the advancement of society.
