Under the direction of Noah Siegel, MD, and Sheila Borboli-Gerogiannis, MD, the specialists at Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood provide routine and sub-specialty eye, ear, nose, throat, head and neck care in a state-of-the-art facility. Located close to the hospitals in the Longwood Medical Area, Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood offers easy access for appointments. The site has a state-of the-art surgical center, staffed by teams of Mass Eye and Ear surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses. Services
Comprehensive Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat)
The specialists at Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood diagnose and treat pediatric and adult conditions of the ears, nose and throat. We offer a wide range of services to adults and children including diagnosis and treatment of common problems such as chronic sinusitis, sleep apnea and snoring, tonsil and adenoid disorders, chronic ear infections and balance and vestibular problems. Common ENT services for children and adults include hearing loss, medical treatment of nose and sinus disease, voice disorders, speech and swallowing problems, as well as all common otologic (ear) problems including balance disorders.
Chronic Sinusitis and Sinus Conditions
The ear, nose and throat specialists at Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood provide care for the full range of nose and sinus conditions for adults and children. Our services include care for nasal obstruction, acute and chronic sinusitis, smell and taste loss, nosebleeds, septal perforation and pain and headaches related to the sinuses.
Tonsil and Adenoid Disorders
Our Longwood specialists treat patients for a wide range of tonsil-related issues, including infections and lesions of the tonsils and adenoids. We provide surgical and non-surgical treatment for children and adults.
Chronic Ear Infections
At Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood, we treat adults and children suffering from chronic ear infections, including infections in the external ear canal (commonly known as swimmer’s ear) and the middle ear, using a variety of surgical and non-surgical treatment methods.
Voice, Speech and Swallowing Problems
The team at Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood specializes in the study and management of the larynx and voice-related communication disorders. Expert services are available for the spectrum of disorders and diseases that affect the larynx and voice. Our specialists work to integrate excellence in patient care, education, training and research.
Balance/Vestibular Diagnosis and Treatment
The team at Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood provides expert diagnosis and treatment plans for patients suffering from balance and vestibular disorders. Our multi-disciplinary team includes a physical therapist and ear, nose and throat physicians who diagnose and treat balance conditions such as Meniere’s disease, BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), inner-ear inflammation, which can cause debilitating vertigo, and migraine-associated dizziness.
Sleep Disorders (Sleep Apnea and Snoring)
The sleep specialist at Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood treats patients for a range of sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. Obstructive sleep apnea is a common condition that causes brief interruptions of breathing during sleep; it is often characterized by loud snoring. Treatment options include surgical procedures, CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure machines) and oral appliance therapy.
Audiology
Our Longwood team provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art hearing health care to people of all ages, infants to adults. We have extensive experience managing hearing loss with hearing aids, cochlear implants and other rehabilitative strategies. The audiologists at Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood are licensed professionals with doctoral or masters level education, who assess hearing loss and minimize its effect on communication with assistive devices including hearing aids and cochlear implants.
Comprehensive Ophthalmology & Cataract
Our primary eye care physicians provide a full spectrum of integrated patient care, from routine eye care and screenings for systemic diseases like diabetes, to the management of complex ophthalmic diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma.
Cornea
Our cornea specialists offer care to patients with corneal, eye surface and refractive disorders, and perform diagnostic testing and treatment of a wide variety of corneal conditions. We have developed programs to treat complicated cataracts, dry eye and corneal scarring caused by infection and corneal degenerations.
Glaucoma
We utilize the latest technology and resources to diagnose, treat and manage glaucoma disease. We are highly experienced in performing the latest surgical procedures, which offer patients shorter recovery times and a lowered risk of complications.
Inflammatory Eye Disease
We provide advanced diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic care to patients with inflammatory eye disease. Offering a unique combination of skills and expertise, our team is cross-trained in the retina and uveitis services at Mass Eye and Ear.
Retina Service and Macular Degeneration
Our retina team diagnoses and treats virtually all eye diseases affecting the vitreous, macula and retina. We combine surgical and medical expertise with best-in-class technology and resources that target age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal degenerations and detachments, and other retinal conditions.
Eye Plastic Surgery
We perform a host of delicate aesthetic and reconstructive procedures in and around the eyes and face. Our expertise includes reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgery, treatment of orbital tumors and inflammations (such as thyroid eye disease), treatment of watering eyes and tearing, and treatment for traumatic lacerations and fractures.
Eye plastic cosmetic procedures include upper eyelid blepharoplasty (lid-lift), lower eyelid blepharoplasty (removal of bags/puffy eyelids), and brow lifting, including minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures. Wrinkle management, such as BOTOX®, Restylane®, Xeomin® and other injectables, includes treatment to remove frown lines and crow’s feet and filler injections for the lips, cheeks, and areas around the mouth.
Refractive Surgery/Laser Vision Correction
Our Longwood clinicians provide expert refractive surgery evaluations. Procedures are performed at the main campus at 1601 Trapelo Road in Waltham and include photo-refractive keratectomy (PRK) and laser in-situ keratomileusis (LASIK).
Optometry and Contact Lens Service
Our optometry team provides routine eye care, as well as prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses. With extensive knowledge of contact lens fitting methods, techniques, and the newest available lens modalities, our optometrists can expertly assess and prescribe contact lenses for many specialty uses, including: astigmatism, bifocal, color enhancement, dry eyes, color deficiency, prosthetic, post-surgical and post-trauma, and keratoconus and corneal irregularities.

Our full-service optical shop offers a comprehensive range of services, from routine fittings to filling prescriptions for highly specialized eyewear. Our highly trained, licensed and skilled opticians have extensive experience filling difficult or unusual prescriptions, and work closely with our clinician specialists.
