The Department is proud to welcome eminent ophthalmologists from around the world who are performing cuttingedge work in their field. In addition to the lectures, forums are provided over the course of a visit to continue to facilitate the exchange of information. All events are held at Mass. Eye and Ear, 243 Charles St., Boston unless otherwise noted.
Cornea Visiting Professors
The HMS Department of Ophthalmology Cornea Center of Excellence at Mass. Eye and Ear hosts a visiting professor lecture series up to four times per year. On the first day, at 4:00pm, Cornea fellows present interesting cases within the visiting professor’s area of expertise, with live patient examinations, and at 5:30pm the visiting professor delivers a lecture. On the second day, the visiting professor delivers a lecture to the residents from 8:00-9:00am.

On Thursday, Professor Rama will lecture at Boston University (BU) to BU and Mass. Eye and Ear residents beginning at 2pm. On Friday, resident case presentations followed by the keynote lecture will run from 1:00pm – 6:30pm and will be held in Meltzer Auditorium at Mass. Eye and Ear.

The Chandler Professorship was established to honor the exceptional teaching, research, and service of Dr. Paul Chandler during his tenure at Mass. Eye and Ear, where he mentored two generations of ophthalmologists interested in glaucoma. The program is centered on resident education and spans 1½ days of lectures and case presentations by residents.
