Biography

Dr. Whitman is a board certified neurologist with 20 years of experience as an otoneurologist. An otoneurologist is a neurologist who specializes in vestibular disorders and other causes of dizziness and loss of balance. The vestibular system includes the inner ear balance systems and their connections in the brain.

Following his graduation from medical school at the University of Connecticut and residency training in Neurology at Boston City Hospital and Tufts, Dr. Whitman completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Otoneurology at the University of California at Los Angeles. He then served on the full-time faculty at University of California at Irvine, where he directed all of the Neurology education programs for students and residents. Dr. Whitman's interests include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), mal de debarquement (MDD), vestibular migraine, Meniere's disease, and all other causes of dizziness.
