About Me
Deeba Husain, MD, is a full-time member of the Mass Eye and Ear Retina Service and the Site Director of Mass Eye and Ear Retina Consultants in Stoneham. She is a vitreoretinal specialist and certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She also directs the Medical Retina Fellowship Program and International Retina fellowship at Mass Eye and Ear.
Dr. Husain attended medical school at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh, India. She subsequently completed Ophthalmology residency training at Harvard Medical School, followed by subspecialty surgical training as a vitreoretinal fellow at Mass Eye and Ear. She is a clinician with unique expertise in treating complex medical and surgical disease of the retina. She has special clinical interest in age related macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in the elderly worldwide
Actively involved in translational research in diseases of the retina and choroid with focus on age-related Macular degeneration and role of multiomics. Dr. Husain has contributed numerous book chapters, review articles, and original papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Clinical Interests
Age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusions, and the medical and surgical management of all vitreoretinal conditions including retinal detachment, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes.
