Research Interests

Recurrent laryngeal nerve electrophysiologic monitoring during thyroid surgery, intraoperative parathyroid hormone analysis during parathyroid surgery. Significant interest in thyroid cancer nodal disease and preoperative radiographic detection.

New Publications

Dr. Randolph’s publication, Surgery of the Thyroid and Parathyroid Glands, 2nd Edition, is a comprehensive surgical textbook focused on malignant and benign disorders of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. The text emphasizes the anatomy, surgical procedures, and workup needed for these conditions, as well as how to effectively manage the difficult cases encountered by experienced surgeons. The book focuses on neural monitoring pioneered by Dr. Randolph to preserve voice during thyroid cancer surgery. The publication’s 200 plus illustrations provide further guidance and insight.
