Research Interests

Dr. Cestari is interested in developing an animal model for ischemic and traumatic optic neuropathy. His goal is to better understand factors that affect blood supply to the optic nerve in order to develop and test new treatments for ischemic, traumatic and compressive optic neuropathies.  Dr. Cestari and his colleagues have been awarded a Harvard Medical School Catalyst Grant in support of their research.
