As a clinician scientist, Dr. Lobo is determined to help develop better, more effective treatment options for her patients. To achieve this goal, she is the principal investigator in three large multi-center clinical trials on the use of adalimumab, an anti-inflammatory drug, in the treatment of non-infectious intermediate, posterior or panuveitis. She has also conducted research to investigate ocular syphilis in patients with HIV, the use of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy as an adjunctive treatment of anterior uveitis, and outcomes of juvenile idiopathic arthritis associated uveitis. She also has collaborated on a review of the drug delivery options for the treatment of ocular inflammation.
