Employee Benefits at Mass. Eye and Ear
Our program allows our employees to choose benefits that are best and most cost effective for them. We also offer employees increased opportunity for tax savings through the Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, pre-tax health and dental insurance premium payments and tax sheltered annuities.
Our benefits package offers you a choice of two health care plans, hospital sponsored life insurance and long term disability coverage. For the long term, we provide a non-contributory pension plan along with a matching tax sheltered annuity program. Rounding out this package is a generous time off program. All benefits described are governed by official benefit plan documents and formal policies that are subject to change. To be eligible for benefits, you must be regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week in a benefits eligible position. Benefits are pro-rated for part-time employees.
You have a selection of two health plans and one dental plan. The hospital assumes a portion of the health insurance premium based on relative cost of each plan.
You may establish a flexible spending account for Health Care and/or Dependent Care expenses.
You receive one times your pay in life insurance. You may also choose to purchase additional life insurance for yourself, a spouse or dependent children.
Long Term Disability coverage is offered to employees (30 hour per week minimum) with a benefit level at 60% of pay.
Tax-Sheltered annuities permit you to save on a pre-tax basis for retirement with TIAA-CREF. The hospital offers a match on these savings.
Mass. Eye and Ear pays the full cost of the plan for eligible employees. Contributions are based on years of benefit service and a range of 2-7.5% of pay.
After six months of service, you are eligible for $1,500 per fiscal year.
Most regular full-time employees accrue a minimum of three weeks of vacation per year. You can accrue up to a maximum of four weeks in your sixth year of employment. Mass. Eye and Ear celebrates nine holidays per year. Employees also earn from one to three personal days based on years of service.
