About Me
Dr. Han-Ying Peggy Chang is the Associate Chief for Regional Operations at Mass Eye and Ear and the Clinical Director of Ophthalmology at Mass Eye and Ear, Stoneham. She is a specialist in corneal and external diseases as well as comprehensive ophthalmology. A full-time ophthalmologist at Mass Eye and Ear, Dr. Chang divides her time between the Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Consultation Service and the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service. Her clinical interests include cataract surgery and corneal disease and surgery. As part of the comprehensive ophthalmology service, Dr. Chang specializes in cataract surgery as well as the diagnosis and management of corneal disorders, with a particular focus on tumors of the ocular surface.
Dr. Chang completed her medical training from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. While completing her subspecialty training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Mass Eye and Ear, she was named Chief Clinical Fellow and was selected to attend the prestigious Cornea Society Advocacy Ambassador Program, Mid-Year Forum.
Dr. Chang's research interests include bioinformatics (developing software tools that help store, retrieve and analyze biological data) and the development of enhanced electronic patient medical record systems. She is interested in the use of electronic medical record systems in data collection for potential large scale epidemiological studies, and has worked closely with Partners eCare to optimize this functionality in the current EMR as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology Intelligent Research in Sight registry, the country’s largest clinical registry.
Dr. Chang is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society.
