Matching Gifts
Matching gifts are a great way to double your sponsor’s contribution while helping their company gain visibility as a result of their charitable efforts. If an employee of a company that participates in matching gifts program makes a gift to your fundraising efforts. Their company will also 'match' their employees' gift to Mass. Eye and Ear (thus doubling your fundraising). Remind your sponsors to check with their Human Resources Department at work to see if their company has a matching gifts program.
How to Apply Matching Gifts to Your Fundraising

Your contributors simply need to go to their human resources department and ask for a matching gift form. They will need to fill out some information and enclose it with their contribution. You will then forward it along to Mass. Eye and Ear, attn: Kristina Sym. Please also include the contributor’s check or indicate how the original contribution was made. Your account will automatically be credited for the match when the form has been processed.
The company may have certain qualifications for making contributions. Be sure that the company matches gifts to health care institutions. If those qualifications are met, the company will mail a matching gift in directly.
Some companies use an on-line match instead of paper form. In this case, your sponsor will go online to their company’s website and submit a request for the match. They should then print out the receipts and sent it to you along with the donation.
